Excuse me? The War of 1812? One thing is not like the other. An armed British force captured and occupied the United States capitol. They set fire to multiple government and military buildings, including the White House. The occupation lasted for 26 hours. President Madison had prepared for an attack with some 14,000 soldiers but Secretary of War John Armstrong told him that the British could never attack the capitol. But nice try lady.
