GOOGLE HOME PAGE IGNORES PEARL HARBOR DAY
What’s up with this people?

Google's home page the day AFTER Pearl Harbor Day. A lame reminder of the birthday of E.C. Segar, creator of the Popeye cartoon strip.
Somehow, the emphasis falls short on many levels. Was the birthday of a cartoonist born over 100 years ago merely a random choice … or was this a conscious snubbing of an important event in America’s history?
Google is a private business and thus, free to be whatever they desire that is within the law … but when power and money are mixed together in such large quantities, the result could be influence peddling at a very high level. We are not alone with our suspicions … see this example from a 2006 article appearing at American Thinker by By Noel Sheppard and Marc Sheppard.
Add it all up, and with its pending buyout of YouTube as announced on October 9, Google, with its billions of dollars worth of market cap ($130 billion as of October 13!), now has the money and the vehicle to impact public opinion like no other e—company. This is crucial, for the Internet has become a significantly more important political resource in recent years.

While this does not answer some important underlying questions, the issue of unfair influence still remains a high level of concern for many. Examples of bias on one side or the other continue to come from giant Google, but we may never really know if they are skewing search and news results to favor one ideology over another.
