Without TOO much excitement, the AJC introduces their new token CONSERVATIVE columnist
Writer, Julia Wallace, pulled the short straw and introduced Kyle Wingfield in their Sunday, April 5th edition. She was careful to note the obvious “corporate” limitations under which Mr. Wingfield will be working…
I think you’ll enjoy his columns (whether or not you agree with his ideology). He’s provocative but not shrill.
Meaning … like all the rest of those “conservative” writers. We wouldn’t want to offend the few remaining liberals who haven’t YET cancelled their subscriptions! Here’s hoping that Kyle can carve out a comfortable place for himself among the liberal inmates at the AJC … here’s a taste of what hopefully will prove to be a true Conservative writer:
I am a native Georgian who has learned in its public schools, enjoyed its natural beauty, worked in its factories, written about its problems and policies. Yet I have also been blessed to have seen a bit of the world, and to have spent the last four years working beyond America’s shores, in places where the “solutions” now being discussed in both Washington and Atlanta have been tried, and often found wanting.
I have seen that trying to turn government into a savior only cheapens church and breeds cynicism about state.
And so I know that, if the world truly has changed in recent months, it will be important for conservative principles to have a voice that speaks to this new era. I want to be that voice in Atlanta.
Here’s wishing Kyle best of luck! He’ll probably do pretty well … he is, after all, a UGA “GO DAWGS” graduate.
