So, remember the farmer and ox?Once there was a farmer whose ox and wagon got stuck in a ditch. Now how that ox and wagon got in the ditch was a topic of much dispute. Some blamed the wagon driver; others blamed the wagon maker; and some even blamed the ox. But the fact that the ox and the wagon were in the ditch was clear and something had to be done. And so, the government decided to take over getting the ox and the wagon out of the ditch. This effort started a massive public works project to dig the wagon out. After all, it was the perfect excuse to do something about that ditch. Dig, dig, dig.Now since the government was spending so much money on this project, political leaders decided that the wagon was also the solution for a variety of transportation problems. So, it invited passersby to hop on board the wagon as they waited for the farmer and ox to get the wagon out of the ditch.Of course, it did not stop there. Every other project that needed an ox to pull it along got hitched to the poor ox.WAIT … THERE’S MORE!

Rush Limbaugh is a leader. Period.J. Peter Freire - American Spectator
he is also a leader in thought. This may make the more nuanced among the right uncomfortable, primarily because he doesn’t confer with anyone before making his thoughts known. He’s unpredictable. It is because Rush does not confer with others that he is a leader. It is because Rush is independent that he sets himself apart. In setting himself apart he also makes fun of those he disagrees with on radio, while maintaining distance from the process. And that last is both the cosmetic and the substantive charge against him. That it’s easy for the man behind the mic to rile people. Especially when he gets paid a lot of money to do it.I’m not what you call a Dittohead, but I don’t disagree with Peter’s following assessment: Speaking as an unabashedly Pro-Rush self-styled cocktail-party attending intellectualoid wannabe, or whatever you want to call it, I’m bewildered at the number of people misunderstanding of Rush’s role.Yes, he is an entertainer — you have to be to keep an audience for 3 hours every day — but
You may not want to designate him as your leader. But it is the pinnacle of ignorance to think that the most-listened to radio host in America is not a leader. He does play an important part in the movement, and denying that is placing him in the category of a crazy uncle. If we assess leaders by influence, Rush wins out over Steele any day.If I was going to pick somebody to carry the Conservative banner … Rush would certainly be in the top half dozen.
OBAMA: The Anti-Reagan
Barack Obama allegedly intends to be a transformational president like Ronald Reagan. But now President Obama is raising taxes on businesses and retirees, socializing the largest sectors of America’s economy, and decimating state sovereignty and creativity. This is the polar opposite of what President Reagan did in the 1980s, and reveals Barack Obama as the Anti-Reagan.So the Obama cheerleading squad (the mainstream media) can compare him to Ronald Reagan all day long, but the truth is the President Obama is the anti-Reagan, and his policies will bring us the same unemployment and stagnant economies that exist in the European countries that try these failed socialist policies, rather than the prosperity the real Ronald Reagan brought to America. So some of you Obama voters out there tell me exactly “why” you voted for this guy again??
CLOSE TO HOME IN GEORGIA: County gun permit apps surgeGwinnett Daily Post - Lawrenceville, GA
LAWRENCEVILLE – To call Benjamin Olsen “armed” is a colossal understatement. He’s more like a walking arsenal. At any given moment, the 25-year-old Suwanee contractor is strapped with a Kel-Tec 9 mm in his cargo pocket, a Springfield XD .45 caliber in a hip holster and, nearby in his truck, a loaded shotgun. Another 13 guns await Olsen at home. All this from a hulking guy who stands 6-foot-3, weights 285 pounds and projects the no-nonsense scowl of a courtroom bailiff. So why all the firepower?“When seconds count, the police are minutes away,” says Olsen, grinning. “If the bad guy’s got a gun, (the guns) are necessary. The only way to minimize force is to meet it with equal or greater force.”AMEN, brother!
Left wing catcher can only kick dirt on him as Rush crosses home plate!BREITBART: Rush to judgment: A media hopelessly divided
Limbaugh took center stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).Hundreds of revelers packed the Regency Ballroom and hundreds more filled overflow rooms, hallways and stairways to watch on wide-screen TVs. It was a rare and much-anticipated public appearance of the man so powerful that President Obama singled him out for destruction in his administration’s first days.It was an address that could have altered the election had it been delivered early last fall by any Republican presidential candidate. The mood at the Omni Shoreham Hotel late Saturday afternoon was off the electrical meter when Rush Andrew is careful to point out …
On the other hand, the “drive-by media” – as Mr. Limbaugh aptly refers to his business competition and ideological foes – portrayed a completely different event.Clearly taking their cues from Mr. Obama – as well as Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid – the Fourth Estate, without the benefit of a Frank Luntz focus group or an instant poll, immediately labeled the speech as “angry” and alienating to “moderate voters.”And Andrew’s “Last rites” conclusion:
With newspapers long ago judged as far gone on the left and television networks turned off for good by enraged customers, the media has good reason to hate Mr. Limbaugh.Mr. Limbaugh is the man who is most to blame for their demise. No wonder they bad-mouth him every chance they get. That pretty much sums it up … and if you will notice, as you are likely to hear over the coming weeks, none of the left wing wackos will deal with “what” Rush SAID, only with “who” he IS. They can’t go after the facts in this debate because they’ll lose before they reach their opening statement.
Does that mean Barack Obama represents “Angry Black Men” then?Let’s face it… Only a raging leftist could get away with such an insulting and racist comment.Funny, Rush Limbaugh talked about this Leftist tactic of destroying reputations during that same speech last night:Those who participate in the biased journalism of our era no longer seek accuracy and fairness. It is merely their angry attempt to sway a reader’s reaction toward a bitter and vengeful attitude against anything that the writer disagrees with. It is diametrically opposed to the REAL reporters of half a century ago … where the goal was for accuracy, truth and perspective. If fact, in 1947, the Hutchinson Commission on Freedom of the Press defined “news” as a, “truthful, comprehensive, and intelligent account of the day’s events in a context which gives them meaning.” So what happended CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and a plethora of bloggers whose “explitive deleted” vocabulary far exceeds their use of anything informative?[insert cricket sound effects here]RELATED: NEWSBUSTERS: Limbaugh Speech Fact Check: Joe Biden’s ‘Stimulus Package’ CluelessnessLadies and gentlemen of the United States, the Democrat Party has actively not just sought the failure of Republican presidents and policies and now wars for the first time, the Democrat Party doesn’t stop at failure. Talk to Judge Robert Bork or Justice Clarence Thomas about how they tried to destroy lives, reputations and character, and I’m supposed to say I don’t want the President to fail? [Applause]

Stimulus: President Obama, a smart man, says that tax cuts for the wealthy are the main reason we’re now in such economic trouble. Someone needs to tell him how utterly — and dangerously — wrong that is.As history shows, lower taxes, not more government, work best.
ENSultan of State Obama challenges lobbyists to legislative duel
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama challenged the nation’s vested interests to a legislative duel Saturday, saying he will fight to change health care, energy and education in dramatic ways that will upset the status quo.“The system we have now might work for the powerful and well-connected interests that have run Washington for far too long,” Obama said in his weekly radio and video address. “But I don’t. I work for the American people.”He said the ambitious budget plan he presented Thursday will help millions of people, but only if Congress overcomes resistance from deep-pocket lobbies.“I know these steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they’re gearing up for a fight,” Obama said, using tough-guy language reminiscent of his predecessor, George W. Bush. “My message to them is this: So am I.”And the hits just keep on comin … MORE AFTER THE BREAK:
