Their editorial gets right to the point: “The reason is that, without this election, America might become unrecognizable in the near future.”

Radical liberals who now control the Democratic machinery have made no bones about their desire to have a single-payer — i.e., government — health-care system. Can Tuesday, Nov. 2, possibly come soon enough? We have some 48 hours now to change this country’s direction. Our future hangs in the balance.

It doesn’t exactly “glow,” but he’ll take it.

THIS YEAR’S mud-spattered race for Georgia governor between Nathan Deal and Roy Barnes is one of the most unsatisfying in many years. [but] In our opinion, the candidate who offers the most potential to improve the lives of citizens in this state is Nathan Deal. Mr. Deal, 68, the former congressman from Gainesville, is easily the most fiscally conservative candidate. His record in Washington of supporting reduced taxes and less government should be replicated in Atlanta. Combined with a like-minded, Republican-controlled legislature, this should result in policies that create a positive climate for businesses to create jobs and put Georgians to work. Time for Deal.

Perhaps the closing line sums up this race the best: “…Georgians can’t be preoccupied by what-ifs. Instead, they must focus on the what-should-bes.”

Nathan Deal has taken some serious criticism lately by Roy Barnes and others, particularly one member of Atlanta’s gay community, Seth Persily. Persily found serious exception to an ad used in the Deal campaign which alleged that Karen Handel at one time supported domestic partnership benefits for gay couples. Jim Galloway at the AJC gives us the rundown on the little “private war” that Persily has now started in an effort to draw attention to Deal’s reputation (which is odd in queer strange sort of way, given that reputations are so subjective anyway). It is interesting that Galloway uses the following phrases to describe the campaign: “…when Persily gets angry, he has options.” So here we have the first indication of a less than honorable motive … ANGER. Galloway continues, “Usually, he uses his powers for good.” FLAG NUMBER 2: Persily is using his power for EVIL (that’s sort of unspoken, of course, but work with me here). And then the ALL IMPORTANT quote in the article: “I’ve never tried to harm someone’s reputation. This is a first for us,” [Persily] said. So there you have it, the police interview equivalent of a signed confession … “Yes officer, I’m trying to harm his reputation.” You see, the pitiful part of this cheap experiment is that it is devoid of facts relating to the exceptional character and positive reputation of Nathan Deal. It’s pure manipulation motivated by anger and built upon unwarranted manipulation of search technology … a dirty practical joke that in the real world should bring criticism on the perpetrator. Is it a cheap shot? Well, that is the best thing you can call it. More accurately, it’s a reverse “hate crime.” Persily is gay, and perhaps a little sensitive about it. Following are some stories to support Nathan Deal’s reputation and good work he has done for Georgia. Hopefully, they will provide some positive points to consider and balance the less than honorable actions of Mr. Persily.

Let’s begin with Cynthia Tucker at the AJC (Jim … you ever go to lunch with Cynthia? Just asking): First, you just KNOW you’re in good standing when Tucker picks you out as a target. In her column, you will be especially humored by the sentence, “The Republican voters of Georgia have chosen Nathan Deal to carry the banner for them in the governor’s race? I confess I didn’t see that coming. They went with the guy whom a good government group once labelled “one of the 15 most c.o.r.r.u.p.t. (she means GREATEST) members of Congress?” He’s the reincarnation of Gene Talmadge.” I thought it was pretty cool to use that term “GOVERNMENT GROUP,” particularly when the group she’s referring to is “CREW – Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.” Wikipedia identifies them as a “Liberal Watchdog” group … hardly a “Government Group.” The lion’s share of their targets just happen to be … (WAIT FOR IT): REPUBLICANS. Let’s just call them “ACLU Light.” And by the way, they have merely made accusations … that’s what they do. Basically, CREW is nothing more than a liberal advocacy group which was funded by Democratic high rollers about four years ago by a group called Democracy Alliance (can you spell George Soros?). Their mission is to diminish the effectiveness of anything “Conservative.” You may find it extremely interesting that this group, and all the other not-for-profit groups funded by the alliance are exempt from public disclosure laws. HELLO!! That’s means they don’t have to report where the MONEY is coming from! Get my drift? Oh … here’s Cynthia’s hit piece.

So Cynthia … put a sock in it. Nathan Deal is good people and the liberal weenies who are being paid to stir all this junk up are NOT good people. Oh … and no surprise here: CREW Calls for criminal investigation into Christine O’Donnell for campaign finance fraud — SHOCKER. And this from their blog: “”Christine O’Donnell is clearly a criminal, and like any crook she should be prosecuted,” said Melanie Sloan, CREW Executive Director.” WOW — liberal money sure knows how to talk!! But I digress … back to Georgia’s great candidate for Governor, Nathan Deal – a positive choice for Georgia.

Kenny Burgamy is a conservative talk show host in central Georgia. He says his callers have had questions about Nathan Deal’s more than 2 million dollars in bank loans that are due in February. They resulted from his son in-laws’ failed business. “ A number of those we’ve heard from in recent days say that some things in their mind just don’t add up,” Burgamy says. Georgia’s successful economic recovery will depend on people willing to take a calculated risk to start a business and employ Georgians. Macon.com: Nathan Deal has been building the résumé to run for governor his whole life. Top grades. Student body president. Debate champion. Law school. Military record. A nearly three-decade-long career in the state Legislature and Congress. “We all figured in, oh, the fifth or sixth grade that Nathan was going to be governor,” said his childhood friend Tommy Walker, of Sandersville. “He was just that way, the class leader with the good grades. It’s like it was in his DNA.” Deal has gone to bat for issues important to business in his district — or, in the view of consumer advocates, undermine government regulation. In 2003, he persuaded fellow lawmakers to support a provision allowing farmers to market their chickens as organic even if they never ate organic meal, so long as they could prove there was a shortage of the feed. It was tucked into a giant $397 billion spending bill. Deal sought the provision on behalf of Fieldale Farms Corp., which is in his district. That change outraged organic farmers, and the Bush administration had it overturned. Tough proposals to crack down on illegal immigration have been the centerpiece of his tenure. Deal has said that is the direct result of concerns bubbling up from his north Georgia district, where immigrants have arrived in large numbers to work at textile mills. Gwinnett Daily Post: The financial woes of its gubernatorial candidate won’t stop the Gwinnett GOP from supporting Nathan Deal, party chairman Bruce LeVell said Friday. “Nathan Deal today demonstrated again why he must be the next governor of the great state of Georgia,” LeVell said in a statement. “He has fully explained the situation surrounding his personal finances, making it clear that he is among the many Georgians whose financial standing has been affected by the economic downturn. Like so many of us, he was simply attempting to help his own children start their own small business, as he understands that entrepreneurship is the backbone of the American Dream.” Deal spoke Friday at a Gwinnett Bar Association luncheon, where he focused on the campaign issues of public safety, education and job creation. Afterward, he said the negative publicity about his finances has been difficult. He said he is proud of his daughter and the hard work she and her husband put into their outdoor supply store, but he said it has been difficult for his family for the news to become public. “Those are the things most Georgians understand,” he said of the struggle to succeed in a flailing economy. LeVell said the members of the Gwinnett GOP empathize. GOP stands behind Deal .
