Here’s an updated screenshot taken on January 11, 2025. They’ve just revised the page … the same old stale news from over two years ago.

Volunteer Ministers work with public servants in their own communities, helping to improve conditions right at home. Their information and training centers are bright yellow tents open to the public at weekend events and fairs, where anyone may enroll on a course or seminar that is delivered right in the tent.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now take a look at the most recent \u201cnews\u201d on the screen capture above. The most recent date they have for “disaster relief” is October 13, 2022. One might be tempted to wonder what happened to all of those missing natural disasters during the past year and a half. But I digress.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from Scientology\u2019s own website, just where does news of the Volunteer Ministers from other sources show up? Let\u2019s take a look \u2026\u00a0here is a Google news search for \u201cScientology disaster relief.\u201d<\/strong><\/a> Among the results other than official Scientology sources, there are merely press release distribution sites that the church purchases services from: “Send2Press,” \u201cPRNewswire,\u201d “BusinessWire,” and \u201cEIN Presswire.\u201d Are any of these press release services pawns in the great scheme of things?<\/p>\n

Per Wikipedia: Volunteer Ministers<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

A Volunteer Minister (VM) is a member of Scientology sent to a disaster zone to spread the doctrine of Scientology and provide disaster relief. The program was created in the 1970s by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Church of Scientology says that the program constitutes “the only effective steps to arrest and reverse the deterioration of [the] world”, but critics argue that Scientology uses the program to gain positive media attention and recruit new members (known within Scientology as “raw meat”).<\/em><\/p>\n

There has been controversy over the group’s goals and activities.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

HERE\u2019S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING!<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Does Scientology control \u201cnews\u201d at websites like \u201cSend2Press Newswire\u201d and \u201cEIN News\u201d? Admittedly, \u201ccontrol\u201d is rather subjective\u2026and maybe it means \u201ctaking full advantage of.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s take a look at the press releases<\/strong><\/a> from EinPressWire.com on \u201cScientology.\u201d<\/p>\n

How about \u201cSend2Press?\u201d\u00a0How about that \u2026 a similar set of results<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to Send2Press, they are located in \u2026 WAIT FOR IT \u2026 Temecula, California! This organization was a spinoff from Neotrope as a press release service in 1997. Well, son of a gun \u2026 there\u2019s a Church of Scientology Mission in Temecula. They once had their own website, Temecula.ScientologyMissions.org, but the URL now merely defaults to Scientology\u2019s main site. This is one of the \u201cdead\u201d pages captured at the Internet Archive<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, let\u2019s take a closer look at Neotrope,\u00a0as described in their original website<\/strong><\/a>, which I\u2019ve screen captured, just in case it disappears:<\/p>\n

And amazingly, he has his own website at\u00a0ChristopherSimmons.com<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0where he has posted a ton of \u201cpress releases\u201d on \u2026 WAIT FOR IT \u2026 himself. It appears as though he lost interest in mid-2013, as that is the date of his last post.<\/p>\n

Christopher also has a\u00a0music-focused news site called Musewire<\/strong><\/a>, but it looks like he\u2019s gone through some rough times\u2026<\/p>\n

The fact remains that Scientology continues to promote its \u201cPress Releases\u201d using Mr. Simmon\u2019s services and others. Simmons may not even know about the links and perhaps one of Scientology\u2019s infamous \u201cfront groups\u201d or other third-party organizations has purchased the service and pushes stories into the news ecosystem, thus remaining at arm’s length\u2026 but who knows? The fact remains that the Volunteer Minister\u2019s world influence never makes its appearance on any mainstream media news sites \u2026 it is purely manufactured as \u201cPublic Relations\u201d like everything else created within the world of Scientology<\/em><\/strong><\/span>, from its bogus \u201cFreedom Magazine\u201d to \u201cStand League\u201d to \u201cNarconon\u201d to \u201cYouth for Human Rights International\u201d or any of its other hundreds of insidious front groups<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mike Rinder, a former Scientologist of nearly 50 years and author of \u201cA Billion Years: My Escape From a Life in the Highest Ranks of Scientology<\/strong><\/a>\u201d,\u00a0has also documented this<\/strong><\/a>, providing a basic understanding of the purpose of these \u201cPress Releases\u201d that will never see the light of day among the general population:<\/p>\n

Scientology has many front groups that are designed to create the impression that the organization is a benevolent group that does good work in their community.<\/em><\/p>\n

I have noted many times that the \u201cgood work\u201d does not happen if it cannot be documented by a video team who then use the video to fundraise and for propaganda pieces about the great things they are doing around the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

Here are some very recent pitches from some of their main front groups. They tell the sheeple literally anything to persuade them they need to participate \u2014 but if they don\u2019t they are shamed into giving money. After all, what sort of lowlife would refuse to help make human rights a reality? Or help respond to disasters? Cut off the international drug pipeline? Make LA safe and green? Eradicate barbaric psychiatric practices? Only an SP would not want those things.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And who can forget this infamous Volunteer Ministers Twitter post from 2017 that featured what an uninformed person might conclude is a YELLOW helicopter owned by the group?<\/strong><\/em><\/span> Actually, they\u00a0 \u201cappropriated\u201d the photo of the MH-60T Jayhawk medium-range recovery helicopter from the\u00a0United States Coast Guard website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
