The Cerebral Enhance-o-Tron is Calvin’s Thinking Cap, literally. \u00a0Calvin created it so he could think up an argument to write about. \u00a0It’s the Transmogrifier connected to a colander by three strings. \u00a0It made Calvin a super genius, but made his forehead swell as a side effect.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And like Calvin, the brains have swelled at The Lincoln Project, and they are simply amazed at what they can do with the Internet, which they adapt for many imaginative and elaborate uses.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s NEW, it\u2019s IMPROVED \u2026 The Lincoln Project\u2019s latest \u201cCerebral Enhance-o-Tron\u201d invention:<\/p>\n

They call it, RESOLUTE SQUARE.<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

In 2020, The Lincoln Project launched to fight Trump and Trumpism. Millions of American patriots joined together to make The Lincoln Project the most effective SuperPac in political history. Of the over $3 billion spent in 2020 campaigns, it was only The Lincoln Project that was so uniquely dangerous to Donald Trump that he tried to have his Attorney General shut it down.<\/p>\n

But defeating Donald Trump is not enough. Today the MAGA Republican Party has morphed into a sweeping authoritarian crusade. Don\u2019t let the buffoonish characters fool you \u2013 it is a dedicated, serious movement housed in the Republican party, funded by billionaire plutocrats, staffed by dangerous men and women, and amplified by the radical right-wing media ecosystem led by Fox News. They are confident, patient, and committed to breaking American democracy.<\/p>\n

And their propaganda machine is growing.\u00a0Every hour of every day,<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>dozens of radical, right-wing media outlets pump poison into the democratic bloodstream. They thrive on conspiracy, incite hatred, promote violence, spread lies, and tear down America. It is not enough to defeat their hateful candidates; to save the America we love,\u00a0we must rise up and fight the evil MAGA media with the ferocity it took to defeat Donald Trump.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Traditional media has failed the moment. This is not the time to tell both sides of a lie. We can\u2019t win this war hoping existing media will suddenly learn how to fight. It will never happen, and each day the power of right-wing media grows, a viper wrapping itself around the good heart of America.<\/p>\n

This is why some of us from\u00a0The Lincoln Project have launched a new organization with one mission: fight Fox News and its hateful spawn.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Resolute Square is built by warriors to go to war. It will be your voice to take on bullies, liars, and freaks like Tucker Carlson and Ben Shapiro.<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>The MAGA media have convinced themselves they are too powerful to be challenged. We remember when a guy named Donald Trump did the same. You helped prove him wrong. Now it\u2019s time once again to speak truth to power.<\/p>\n

Resolute Square is not a billionaire\u2019s vanity project. There are no Corporate Over Lords. We are free to fight with whatever it takes to win for democracy. And we know how to win.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s a simple game \u2013\u2013 persuade low-information voters that everything in their universe is under attack, feed them conspiracies about the \u201cMAGA\u201d monsters under their bed, and then soak the hell out of them for \u201cdonations\u201d to help the REAL SOLDIERS who are doing the work of \u201cSaving Democracy.\u201d\u00a0Their game is well described\u00a0<\/a>in this piece by<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>Dannagal G. Young:<\/p>\n

The most salient theme across Lincoln Project\u2019s ads, and the theme that is most obviously illustrative of a conservative psychological profile, is the theme of threat. From the dark visuals employing high-contrast black-and-white footage with alarming red text, to the ominous music, to the chilling deep voice of the narrator warning of terrible things to come,\u00a0LP\u2019s main messaging ingredient is threat.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And that fiction about being \u201cPrincipled Republicans.\u00a0This is put to rest by Rick Lowry<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to maintain the fiction of The Lincoln Project as a Republican group when Weaver gave a defensive-sounding interview to the\u00a0Washington Post<\/em>\u00a0promising to support the agenda of a prospective President Biden and attack Republicans for opposing him.<\/p>\n

If the media didn\u2019t share The Lincoln Project\u2019s political goals, it might cast a more jaundiced eye on the group and simply see political consultants doing what they do best \u2014 namely, separating gullible people from their money, in this case Democratic donors.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Same ol’ same ol’ – they\u2019re just in it for themselves. Direct from the cardboard box, er, the Cerebral-Enhance-o-Tron:<\/p>\n

Although the Calvin and Hobbes strip was \u201cretired\u201d from print in 1996, Bill Watterson, winner of the National Cartoonists Society’s highest honor, the Reuben Award, is still a hot topic at \u2026 would you believe it \u2026\u00a0CRACKED<\/a>.<\/p>\n
