It\u2019s true \u2026 #DonaldTrump is a force of nature and supported by the biggest names in the MAGA world. One of his most vocal cheerleaders is Laura Loomer. If anyone sets the standard by which Trump supporters can be called \u201cExtremists,\u201d it is Ms. Looney herself.<\/p>\n

Laura has even called herself a \u201cproud Islamophobe.\u201d Having a religious opposition to Islam is one thing but putting out quotes like this is beyond the pale:\u201d Someone needs to create a non-Islamic form of Uber or Lyft because I never want to support another Islamic immigrant driver.\u201d At one point she celebrated the deaths of 2,000 migrants in the Mediterranean Sea, tweeting \u201cGood. Here\u2019s to 2,000 more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the antics that Laura has promoted on her \ud835\udd4f\/Twitter account was an encounter with Ron DeSantis in Iowa as reported in this NBC News piece, \u201cTrump\u2019s embrace of far-right activist Laura Loomer worries his allies<\/strong><\/a>\u201c\u2026<\/p>\n

When Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis entered a hotel in Iowa on Friday, he was immediately ambushed by a woman who peppered him with questions about when he would \u201cdrop out\u201d of the race and whether he\u2019s \u201calready wasted enough of people\u2019s money\u201d as she followed him with a camera.<\/em><\/p>\n

Afterward, the encounter found its way to social media. The woman \u2014 far-right social media influencer Laura Loomer \u2014 cut a scene in which she said DeSantis \u201clooked petrified,\u201d adding she believed \u201chis soul left his body when he saw me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Perhaps more notable than the encounter, though, was which of Loomer\u2019s biggest fans quickly promoted it on social media; former President Donald Trump plugged the video on his Truth Social account on Saturday.<\/em><\/p>\n

It was just the latest in a series of promotions and praise Trump has offered Loomer during the campaign, and it has some allies and advisers worried that he\u2019s giving a figure they see as a fringe, far-right activist too close of an embrace \u2014 one that could come back to bite him during a general election campaign.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone who works for him thinks she\u2019s a liability,\u201d one Trump ally said.<\/em><\/p>\n

Her targeting of DeSantis stretches far beyond her ambush video from Friday. She\u2019s previously accused the governor\u2019s wife, Casey DeSantis, of \u201cFAKE CRYING ABOUT CANCER.\u201d Late last year, she followed and filmed a top DeSantis aide, Christina Pushaw, around the Florida GOP\u2019s November summit.<\/em><\/p>\n

One of Trump\u2019s most prominent right-wing allies has already publicly offered a harsh condemnation of Loomer after The New York Times reported on the potential for the campaign to hire her. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., wrote at the time that Loomer was \u201cmentally unstable and a documented liar\u201d and \u201ccannot be trusted.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We thought it might be revealing to see just how far her \u201cinfluence\u201d extends inside the official MAGA elite. Perhaps not scientific by any means, but it will be revealing to search the \ud835\udd4f\/Twitter timelines of some of the most vocal Trump allies and see if Laura Loomer\u2019s name appears\u2026<\/p>\n
