The hammer strikes. Chisels carve. Golden vessels gleam in torchlight. Solomon’s temple rises\u2014stone by magnificent stone<\/strong><\/span>\u2014reaching toward heaven itself. Craftsmen labor. Artists paint. The finest cedar from Lebanon fills the air with its sweet fragrance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet somewhere in the celestial courts, the Creator of the universe speaks words that shatter human expectations:<\/span><\/p>\n

“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.”<\/i><\/strong><\/span> (Isaiah 66:1-2 ESV)<\/span><\/p>\n

The Almighty isn’t impressed.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
