The Treasure Chest with No Lock<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

A father watches his daughter wrestle with a math problem at the kitchen table. She groans. She erases. She slams her pencil down. Then she does something remarkable\u2014she looks up and asks, “Dad, can you help me?”<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

That moment captures the heart of Proverbs 2:6: “For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding”<\/em><\/strong><\/span> (ESV).<\/p>\n

Notice the verb: gives<\/em><\/strong><\/span>. Not sells. Not hoards. Not withholds until we prove ourselves worthy. The Creator of galaxies and subatomic particles opens His hand and pours out wisdom like rain on parched ground.<\/p>\n

Solomon understood this. When God offered him anything he desired, the young king bypassed gold, military might, and long life. He asked for wisdom. And God’s response thunders through the centuries: “Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind”<\/em><\/strong><\/span> (1 Kings 3:12, ESV).<\/p>\n

James drives the point home with equal force: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him”<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>(James 1:5, ESV). Did you catch that? Without reproach.<\/em><\/strong><\/span> God doesn’t roll His eyes at our questions. He doesn’t sigh at our confusion. He leans in.<\/p>\n

But here’s what transforms everything: wisdom flows from His mouth<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span> This isn’t abstract philosophy floating in the ether. This is personal. Intimate. The same mouth that spoke light into darkness, that breathed life into Adam’s lungs, that called Lazarus from the tomb\u2014that mouth speaks wisdom directly to you.<\/p>\n

The psalmist discovered this treasure: “The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces”<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>(Psalm 119:72, ESV). Better than a vault stuffed with wealth. Better than a portfolio bursting with gains. Why? Because gold can’t navigate a broken marriage. Silver can’t guide you through grief. Only divine wisdom cuts through the fog.<\/p>\n

So what binds your mind today? What decision looms? What relationship tangles into knots you can’t untie?<\/p>\n

Look up. Ask.<\/p>\n

Your Father waits at the table, ready to help. He built the universe with wisdom (Proverbs 3:191<\/a><\/sup>The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens;<\/span>), and He offers that same wisdom to you\u2014freely, generously, lovingly.<\/p>\n

The treasure chest stands open. Reach in.<\/p>\n
