Hot Air: Hegseth Attorney Blasts Smear Attempt as Concocted by Dems
A last-minute attempt to attack Hegseth’s character by his former sister-in-law follows the same playbook Democrats played against Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh — unsuccessfully in those cases, although the character assassination continues for both. The media has played along with Danielle Dietrich’s hearsay claims that Hegseth abused his second wife, despite Hegseth’s ex-wife warning that the allegations are “inaccurate” and that she is referring the matter to her attorney now.
This time, Hegseth’s attorney refuses to let this stand. In a letter to Senate Armed Services chair Roger Wicker (R-MS), Timothy Parlatore accuses Democrats of conspiring to suborn perjury, for testimony that the FBI already investigated and rejected.
Oh, look who’s back at it, folks! The Democrats, those paragons of political virtue, have once again rolled into town with their shiny new character assassination machine guns, ready to unload on anyone who dares to oppose them. This time, they’re setting their sights on Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick for Defense Secretary.
You can almost hear the screeching tires of their metaphorical black SUVs pulling up to the Senate, windows rolling down, and out come the barrels of their latest smear campaign, funded by who else? The Dems, of course! They’ve got their hitmen, or should I say, hit lawyers, running around with affidavits like they’re handing out flyers for a shady nightclub. But instead of promising a good time, they’re promising a good old-fashioned political smear.
First, they dredge up some ancient, baseless allegations from the depths of their character assassination vault. “Hegseth’s abusive!” they cry, as if they’re not the ones abusing the very concept of political discourse. They’ve got some ex-sister-in-law, who probably just wants her 15 minutes of fame, claiming he’s the boogeyman of domestic tranquility. And what’s this? A brother’s ex-wife? Oh, because that’s definitely the most reliable source for character judgment!
And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance – the funding. Oh, it’s all funded by the Dems, isn’t it? They’ve got more money for smear campaigns than they do for solving real issues. They’re not the party of the people; they’re the party of the smear, the party of the shakedown, the party with a hit list longer than Capone’s.
But here’s the thing, Democrats, you’re not fooling anyone with this mobster act. Do you think you can just drive by, and spray a little gossip, and everyone will forget about the real issues? Do you think you can intimidate, threaten, and bully your way to power? Well, guess what? The American people are tired of your drive-by character assassinations. They see through your cheap suits and cheaper tactics.
So, keep revving those engines, Democrats. Keep your guns blazing with your so-called “evidence.” But remember, in the court of public opinion, you’re not seen as legitimate politicians; you’re seen as the thugs of the political landscape, blasting away at anyone who doesn’t fall in line with your agenda. Pete Hegseth might be your target today, but tomorrow, it could be any one of us who dares to stand for something different.
Wake up, America! The Democrats have turned the political arena into a scene straight out of “The Godfather,” where loyalty to their cause is demanded, and dissent is met with a hail of character bullets. But in this movie, we choose the ending.
